Readers, writers and performers for Bim LitFest 2014 on books that grab them, favourite authors, and showing words love…

“I cannot say that I have a favourite book. My favourite writers are poets: Derek Walcott, T.S. Eliot, W.B. Yeats, and Seamus Heaney.

“Certainly, The Road Less Travelled by Scott Peck made a lasting impression on me. I was really searching for answers at the time I read it, and the book seemed to unravel some issues for me: the idea of purpose and of a hidden wisdom in the universe. Those thoughts helped to keep me focused.”

• Esther Phillips is a poet, retired educator, and the director of the Bim LitFest.
