The ArtsEtc Winning Words Anthology: NIFCA 2013/2014 is now out!
The anthology, which features some searing, provocative and thoughtful work from Barbadian writers on themes such as gender, sexuality, race, and nationhood, sees ArtsEtc continuing in its role as producer and co-sponsor of the National Cultural Foundation's series showcasing award-winnning entries from its NIFCA Literary Arts Competitions.
Among the work featured in this anthology is the poem "Transhood" by Adrienne Callender, winner of the first ever Carolle Bourne Prize (an annual award for innovation sponsored by ArtsEtc and US-based Barbadian novelist Ronald A. Williams). Callender's writing, along with that of fellow award winners Latoya Brathwaite, Tessa King-Inniss, Stephen Sandiford, Kwame Slusher (the 2015 Carolle Bourne Prize recipient ), and Nick Whittle, is previewed in ArtsEtc's Poetry and Fiction departments.
This is the second NIFCA Winning Words anthology ArtsEtc has edited and produced on behalf of the NCF. The arresting cover image shows a detail from NIFCA Visual Arts award-winning photograph Dismantled/Reassembled by Khalil Goodman, who also provided the cover image for the latest Junior Winning Words digital anthology.
