“I don’t have a favourite book…I love books in general and authors, so I’m always looking for the next great read.

“The last book that really captured my imagination was If I Never Went Home by Ingrid Persaud. I loved it! The storyline was so familiar to me as someone who grew up in Barbados and understands the kind of familial ties and sexual congress that define Caribbean relationships. I was glued to the pages—so much so that I actually was annoyed when interrupted from reading it!”

 • Broadcaster Jewel Forde is host of CBC Channel 8’s Eye on the Arts and is a tour guide for the Bridgetown Literary Tour which launches as part of Bim LitFest 2014.
